PLANO, TX , February 1, 2025 – Regal Research and Mfg is proud to announce the expansion of our cutting-edge Cobot Laser Fusion Weld operations serving key customers in the Cleantech, Medical Equipment, Space Exploration, Mobility Cart, and Industrial Controls markets.  At the heart of Regal’s growth is a commitment to combining automation with manufacturing expertise, a winning formula for competing in a global market. 

Regal Research was the first to incorporate the Trumpf 5020 Laser Fusion Robot cell in North America, dating back to February of 2016, giving Regal over 8 years of experience using Laser Weld technology to date.  The newer technology now being deployed includes IPG Light Weld units with next generation Cobot technology for quick learning and high repeatability.  As of the release of this article, Regal has 8 laser weld units with 3 robotically controlled, and plans scale up significantly over the next 2 years.  Brian Imbler, President of Regal Research, commented “The commitment by the ownership of Regal Research to continuously improve operations is clearly seen in expansions such as with our Cobot Laser Weld Department.  This has really paid dividends for those companies that Regal has served over the years in our ability to scale quickly while implementing cutting-edge technology to create process that repeatedly deliver high quality products at a very competitive total cost to our customers.”
